West St. Paul
West St. Paul is a small rural municipality in the province of Manitoba that lies toward the Northeast corner of Winnipeg. Until 1915, it formed the larger St. Paul municipality before being split into East St. Paul & West St. Paul.
The municipality is made up of the Rivercrest and Middlechurch communities and contains the West St Paul high school and Royal Manitoba Yacht Club. The population of the region was 4,368 at the last census.
One of the region’s claims to fame is The West St. Paul curling club, which was built in 1963. It received some recognition in 2015 when the Reid Carruthers team won the Men’s Manitoba Curling Provincials. They also placed third in the Men’s National Brier.
The St. Paul Anglican Church is one of the area’s central attractions, being built in 1825, and is waiting to be listed as a historical building. The area has lots of green space and is an ideal semi-rural location close to Winnipeg, but with a much more relaxed atmosphere.
